So breakneck speed is probably best left for the other Tesla vehicles. Still, you probably don’t want this truck for speed, you want it to keep anything you put in the back in one piece. Speeds vary from 4.5 seconds down to 2.9 seconds, which is still very fast, but don’t expect this to scare hypercars.

#Tesla truck price driver
These are driver aids, not driver replacement systems. Indeed this is something that Musk is going to continually be taken to task over, especially as people keep doing stupid things and crashing their cars. It is a very smart, very capable driver assistance system, but it can’t be considered self-driving. However be aware that this is not meaningfully full self driving at all. The Cybertruck will come with Tesla’s “full self-driving” mode, if you care to pay for it. Pop this away, and you’ll get bench seating front and back, with room for six people. The front seats on the Cybertruck are flexible, with a drop down armrest offering the customary cupholders to the American Beverage Gods. This has worked well on other Teslas though, so it doesn’t being much concern. Early Cybertruck shots show an interior entirely devoid of switchgear and a horizontal, wide monitor as the main source of information.

This wheel design is controversial, and some drivers would prefer to have a normal wheel, but the Cybertruck has always been shown with this new style of control.Ī single screen seems to be the main user interface. It would be hard to imagine Tesla selling the base Cybertruck for $39,900 when the model 3 starts at $42,000. The $39,900 base price was always ambitious, but it has become unimaginable after some of the recent price increases to the Model 3. We previously speculated that at the very least the prices of the Cybertruck would need to be updated. That’s to be expected since they likely evolved over the last two years, and especially since we have probably another full year now before the electric pickup truck reaches production. Electrek’s TakeĪ move like that would generally mean that Tesla doesn’t necessarily plan to launch the Cybertruck with those specific configurations and that the specs and prices have changed.
#Tesla truck price update
This update comes after Tesla officially delayed the start of Cybertruck production to late 2022. Tesla also mentions a range of “up to 500 miles of range” when it previously mentioned a range of “500+ miles.” The automaker now only mentions some of top specs, like a towing capability of over 14,000 pounds and 0-60 mph in “as little as 2.9 seconds,” which were previously specs associated with the top of the line tri motor Cybertruck.
